Halloween Candy Bowl Free Project Tutorial

Halloween Candy Bowl Free Tutorial

Happy October! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a project here on the blog, but I finally have one for you……a Halloween Candy Bowl! It’s been a busy last year and a half with the pandemic. I am happy to report that I finally have all four of my kids in full day school for the first time in 13 years. I’m looking forward to sharing more sewn projects and new fabric collections this year!

I created a Halloween Candy Bowl Free Project Tutorial for my sewing machine sponsor, Baby Lock Sewing and Embroidery machines. I sewed this entire fabric candy bowl using my Baby Lock Solaris Sewing and Embroidery machine. For the embroidery, I used the built in designs in the machine.

The embroidery design is the same on both sides of the text, I simply flipped the design within the machine. The text is a built in font in the Baby Lock Solaris. I used a large variety of colors for the embroidery design and exclusively used Madeira embroidery thread. I always have good luck with that thread brand, but you can use any thread that you prefer!

You can create this Halloween Candy Bowl with or without embroidery using your favorite Halloween colors or fabrics. However, if you are not going to do any embroidery design I suggest you use a larger patterned fabric on the outside and a smaller pattern for the lining.

You can head over to the Baby Lock website for a complete PDF download and step-by-step tutorial instructions. There are also many other free projects that are posted for Halloween so you can take a look at those while you are there as well.

And if you get a chance to make this project, please be sure to share a photo with me over in The Cottage Mama Patterns Group on Facebook. And to keep up with all the Cottage Mama happenings, please follow @thecottagemama on Instagram.

Until next time (hopefully sooner rather than later)……..Happy Sewing!
