Two weeks ago I shared The Party Dress ~ Part 1 video, last week I shared The Party Dress ~ Part 2 video and today I’m excited to share the final installment of The Party Dress Sew Along. Today you are going to see me finish up The Party Dress including constructing the skirt and the contrast band, attaching the skirt and more! And after this video, you should have a completed Party Dress!
I’m so very excited that my 1st fabric collection, Dainty Darling, should be arriving any day now. I spoke to the folks at Riley Blake Designs and they are expecting it to arrive in the warehouse possibly this week! I’m thrilled to be able to design fabric now that I feel is the perfect compliment to my sewing pattern line. Dainty Darling is everything I could hope for in my debut collection……it’s classic, sweet, girly, colorful and vintage……all wrapped into one!
Last week I shared The Party Dress ~ Part 1 video and I’ve been thrilled by the response from you all. I’m so happy that you are enjoying these videos! Today I’ve got the second installment of this three part series where we finish constructing the bodice and the side sash pieces. Next week we will finish the series by adding the skirt to the dress. I hope this really helps those of you that are visual learners because personally, I think it’s so helpful to see someone sew right before your eyes!

I’m kicking off Week 4 of the Baby Lock Love of Sewing Challenge featuring the Destiny II Sewing & Embroidery Machine. Last week I posted a video of my new Baby Lock sewing machine and today I’m excited to share one of the first projects that I have created with this incredible machine. In case you aren’t familiar with the challenge, Baby Lock selected 12 of it’s ‘Sewlebrities’ to participate in this 12 week challenge. Each designer was to create a project on their Destiny II sewing and embroidery machine that featured gold fabric (fabric provided by Riley Blake Designs) and somehow incorporated their love of sewing. Every week, you will see a new designer, creating a new project and sharing about different features on the Destiny II.

Today, I’m excited to announce that I am the designer featured in the fourth week of the Baby Lock Love of Sewing Challenge. I’ve been sewing exclusively on Baby Lock brand machines since 2012 and it was truly love at first stitch. The blog has been silent here for a little bit with all of the activity from the holidays. I can’t believe how quickly the time slips by with the four kids. We were busy, busy from about Halloween until the start of the year. I love New Year’s! It’s always a great time to reflect, prioritize and goal set for the year ahead. So many exciting things ahead for this year……two fabric collections releasing with Riley Blake Designs (one in February and one in August), a woven ribbon line, new sewing patterns, the Baby Lock Love of Sewing Challenge, new teaching engagements and finally a new collection of Lessons with Lindsay videos starting today (my free online sewing video series sponsored by Baby Lock Sewing and Embroidery Machines)!
