Today is the Dainty Darling Fabric Tour: Day 5! Since we had a little mix up on Day 3 of the tour, I’ve got two special posts for you today! Hopefully both of these darling projects will inspire you to create with my 1st fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs, Dainty Darling.

My guest today is one of my long-time blogging friends, Amy Smart from Diary of a Quilter. I met Amy in person many years ago when I attended International Quilt Market for the first time in Utah. She has always been one of the most warm, kind and inviting bloggers / designers around. Not to mention that she is incredibly talented! Amy also has her first line of fabric releasing soon from Riley Blake Designs / Penny Rose Fabrics so I feel like we are part of the same fabric family.

Today kicks off the week long, Dainty Darling Fabric Tour!
I’m looking forward to this week and sharing some different projects with you all using my 1st Fabric Collection, Dainty Darling for Riley Blake Designs. The fabric began shipping about a month or so ago and can be found in most major online retailers as well as your local quilt shops. I’ve invited some different guests that I know will inspire you to create with this bright, girly, vintage-inspired fabric!

Today you are 9 years old! Happy Birthday!! Wow, it’s hard to believe that you are only one year away from double digits. It’s true what they say……time flies when you are having fun! Here are some things that I would like to remember about you when you turned 9 years old and a few things that you might like to know about your 9 year old self.
It’s been a good while since I released any new The Cottage Mama Sewing Patterns, but I’m happy to announce that yesterday I released two brand new patterns!
I call these two patterns the Adelaide patterns since they coordinate with one another. One is the Adelaide Bubble Romper (Size 3M – Size 4T) and the other pattern is the Adelaide Dress Pattern (Size 6M – 12 Years). These are being offered as separate patterns, but they make absolutely adorable coordinating sibling outfits. I can definitely see some sweet Easter photos in both of these patterns. [Read more…]

The Josie Mae Bonnet is a vintage-inspired button sunbonnet for your darling little ones. It features a large bonnet brim to keep sun off of those sweet little faces and has 9 buttons creating a gorgeous scalloped look all across the top of the bonnet. The bonnet ties around the chin with a large sash style bow. The back of the bonnet is perfect for embroidering a monogram or other design and is also reversible so you can achieve two looks in one!
Today I’m excited to introduce to you, my first ever, machine embroidery design collection! I love to use machine embroidery in my sewn creations, so when I began designing my first fabric collection, Dainty Darling for Riley Blake Designs, I knew I wanted to create some coordinating machine embroidery designs.
Two weeks ago I shared The Party Dress ~ Part 1 video, last week I shared The Party Dress ~ Part 2 video and today I’m excited to share the final installment of The Party Dress Sew Along. Today you are going to see me finish up The Party Dress including constructing the skirt and the contrast band, attaching the skirt and more! And after this video, you should have a completed Party Dress!
I’m so very excited that my 1st fabric collection, Dainty Darling, should be arriving any day now. I spoke to the folks at Riley Blake Designs and they are expecting it to arrive in the warehouse possibly this week! I’m thrilled to be able to design fabric now that I feel is the perfect compliment to my sewing pattern line. Dainty Darling is everything I could hope for in my debut collection……it’s classic, sweet, girly, colorful and vintage……all wrapped into one!
