Michael’s Recollection Calendar Kit Review

Michael's Recollection Calendar Kit: The Cottage Mama

This post is sponsored by Michael’s, but all opinions and photos are 100% mine.

I don’t know about you, but I have the most beautiful scrapbook for my oldest daughter, Savannah, documenting all the moments in her 1st year. What do I have for my other, younger children? And as sad as I am to admit it, a whole lot of nothing. So when Michael’s sent me this new Recollection Calendar Kit, I was over the moon. Finally a way for me to document our special moments each year without feeling like I have to do a full scrapbook.

This is the pretty package that arrive and my home. I am a girl who loves organizational supplies, so this got me all sorts of excited.

But what got me really excited was when I took out all the different pieces from inside the box. It came with a full blank calendar pages for the entire year, different cards that coordinated with each month in 3″ x 4″ and 4″ x 6″, stickers and page protectors to place all the different cards inside. Some of the cards had sayings, some had lines for you to write down things that you would like to remember for that month. They were all so cute!

So I got to work organizing all my different months. The kit includes some fun little stickers for birthdays, anniversaries and other celebratory events. I plan to just remove several of the cards each month and jot down some things about the family / kids that I want to remember that month and it will be our own, more casual version of a family scrapbook. You could also replace some of the cards with photographs as well and pretty much organize the plastic insert pages any way you would like.

And do you see that little hole on the front of the binder? That’s so you can actually keep the calendar hanging up in your home. Sometimes it’s helpful to have the calendar out where everyone can see it and this allows you to do so. SO smart! Plus then you can look at all those adorable designer cards and / or photographs that you’ve put in the plastic insert pages.

So if you are like me and have trouble keeping up with traditional scrapbooking, this product is for you! It makes life so much easier and then you don’t have to feel guilty about not writing down all those special moments for all of the kids. Plus this will be so fun to look back on and see what we were doing each month, the trips we took, the activities the kids were involved in and so on. If you are shopping for a gift for another mother or grandmother, you should get her this……trust me, she’ll love it.

You can pick of the Michael’s Recollection Calendar Kit at Michael’s stores for $39.99.

  1. How do you get the top pages to stay when this is hanging on the wall? And how does it attach to the wall? Since you can’t buy this in stores anymore I am making my own version but have hit a couple snags! Thanks
