Today I’m excited to announce that I’ve teamed up with my friends at Baby Lock Sewing and Embroidery Machines to bring you one of the biggest giveaways we’ve ever had here at The Cottage Mama. Over the next week you will have the opportunity to enter to win the new Baby Lock Brilliant Sewing Machine over on The Cottage Mama Instagram account!
The Brilliant is a brand new sewing machine from Baby Lock’s new line of machines called the Genuine Collection. These machines are all at really nice price-point ranging from a very basic, but solid, entry level machine all the way up to the top of the line machine in the Genuine Collection, the Baby Lock Brilliant (yet still at an affordable price-point). If you’ve ever felt like a Baby Lock sewing machine was out of your reach, it’s not anymore!
There is so much to love about this new machine! I received my Brilliant a month ago and this machine is so lovely. My daughter, Matilda, has really shown an interest in sewing, so she has been having just as much fun as I have learning everything about our new machine.
There are many features on this machine that I love, but some of my personal favorites are the wide-range of built-in decorative stitches (190 stitches are included in this machine), the needle threader, the automatic thread cutter and the hands free knee lift. All of these things make sewing that much easier and enjoyable and, while not necessary, they are a luxury that becomes hard to live without once you’ve gotten use to having these features!
Matilda has had so much fun playing with the whimsical stitches such as the cars and alligators. She also loves using some of the letters to create one-of-a-kind sayings and messages. For right now, she is using the start and stop buttons on the machine since she doesn’t feel completely comfortable with the foot peddle, but I think she’ll be starting to use that very soon.
Baby Lock Genuine Moments
I filmed a short video with Baby Lock talking a bit about some of my background and love of sewing. The video is part of their Genuine Moments interviews as part of the launch of the new Genuine Collection of sewing machines. I thought you might enjoy watching my video and learning a bit more about why I sew.
And lastly, and most importantly, how do you enter to win this glorious new sewing machine?
Well, it’s super easy! This giveaway is taking place over on The Cottage Mama Instagram page. If you don’t have an instagram account, I highly recommend setting up an account. There are so many sewers and quilters on Instagram that it is a really inspiring and great place to connect with other creatives. So once you are on Instagram, find the photo on @thecottagemama that talks about the giveaway and do the following:
- Follow both @thecottagemama and @babylocksewing Instagram Accounts
- Tag three of your sewing friends that you think might be interested to win
- ‘Like’ the Instagram giveaway post
So, you need to do those three things to enter to win. If you would like to earn an additional entry and increase your chances of winning, you can do the following (but you have to do those first three things to be eligible):
-Repost the main giveaway post to your instagram account and tag @thecottagemama and @babylocksewing. Use hashtag #sewbrilliantgiveaway
The giveaway is open to US residents only. Must be 18 years or older to win. Giveaway will run through September 27, 2018 and end at midnight (CST). Sewing machine will be shipped directly to winner from Baby Lock USA. Giveaway is sponsored by Baby Lock USA.
What a Brilliant idea
This is nice! I did the first 3 things, but I can’t figure out how to share a post on Instagram.
Quite frankly, this is too difficult to keep up with, I have clicked on everything I can see, and still can’t figure this one out.
Would love to win this to help teach my granddaughters how to sew, but I don’t do Instagram. Too bad there wasn’t an option to win a different way .. like sharing on FB, etc.
Would love this machine , after the death of my theee month old granddaughter back in September 30th 206 I took a gear interest in sewing to help me cope.
