Several months ago my mom had told me about these yummy party sandwiches that she had made and how I should really give them a try. I made up a batch to bring over to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law after they recently had their first baby, along with some other goodies. The sandwiches were delicious! I made these again a few weeks ago and changed up the recipe a bit to suit my husband and my tastes a bit more. So today I’m going to share my recipe for these Garlicky Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches with you. These are perfect for entertaining a crowd and can be made a day ahead of time (don’t you just love make ahead recipes?)!
Garlicky Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches
- 1 package (12) Hawaiian Rolls (Butter)
- 12 pieces of honey ham
- 6 pieces of Swiss cheese
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic, plus more for sprinkling
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a sheet pan with foil.
- To make the butter/mustard sauce, melt the butter and stir in garlic, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cut the rolls in half and place on the cookie sheet close together.
- Brush half of the butter/mustard mixture onto the bottom on each roll.
- Layer a piece of ham and half a piece of swiss cheese onto each sandwich.
- Place the top of the roll on top of the ham and cheese.
- Brush the remaining butter/mustard mixture on top of each sandwich and sprinkle some additional dried minced garlic on top as well.
- Wait 10 minutes to allow the butter to soak into the bread.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until tops are browned.
- *You can assemble these sandwiches a day ahead of time, but you don't need to if you want them right away. Also, you can double or triple this recipe for large crowds!
