So I’m making a few little changes around here on the blog and one of them is in regards to giveaways. While I absolutely love sharing new businesses and products with you all, I feel like my blog content has had too many giveaways over the last several months. Promoting and growing small businesses is very important to me, as I am a small business owner myself, but I’m going to start doing things a little differently.
The main reason I started this blog was to share my love for creating and hopefully inspire you all to want to create in your everyday life. I want to make sure I keep the content here on the blog focused in that direction. I try really hard to post projects and ideas that you hopefully all enjoy and keep the majority of posts written by me (although my mom, Grandma Jane, will be ‘guest posting’ coming up). I never in a million years thought I would make any money from blogging. While I feel incredibly blessed to now be able to generate some income from blogging, I would be blogging regardless.
With that being said, instead of having several giveaways a week, I am now going to be hosting one giant giveaway day per month. My sponsors all have the opportunity to participate in this day and I am also opening the day up to other small businesses as well. I got this idea from my friend Jessica (from Happy Together) and she assures me it is working out great.
I hope you don’t mind this change. If you love giveaways, then you’ll want to mark your calendar for the first day of each month as that will be the BIG giveaway day. I will still do personal giveaways (from me) and the occasional book and fabric giveaway, but these will be very selective.

This sounds like a great idea – I’m looking forward to possibly starting a home business in the next year – just need to get those grandkids all in school!!!
The information about starting a new business sounds like a great idea. I love so many of the tutorials, that I probably read this site more than any other for that. Giveaways are a bonus, if you are lucky enough to be chosen, although I don’t see how I could win one if I never enter!!! I will have to make the effort to do so!

It sounds wonderful to me. I love reading your blog and seeing your new recipes and tutorials you share. I also enjoy seeing the pics you post of your children and the fun times you share. Can’t wait to enter on March 1!
Great idea!! Sometimes it can get a little annoying just seeing giveaways on a blog to be honest – I like that you’ll be able to focus more on other things and projects 🙂

I enjoy reading your blog giveaways or not!
I love this idea. I follow quite a few blogs, and I don’t do so for the giveaways/promotions. It’s a nice perk once in awhile and I understand they help you earn a bit of money, which I can certainly appreciate. But more often than not, I just quickly skim those posts and move on. I’d much rather read about your creations, or what’s going on with you and your family. That’s the reason I started following you in the first place. So thank you!

Hi, Lindsay. However you want to run the giveaways is fine with me. I cannot get over the shear volume of wonderful, quality, creative content you are able to generate on your blog, and that is the reason why I visit everyday.
I don’t mind this idea at all! I just don’t know about having it all in one post because there are some prizes that I would want to enter (or win) — know what I mean? In other words, there are some I would love to win and others I would rather that others win because I wouldn’t use or get enjoyment out of it/them. I hope that makes sense!
