Fabric Covered Mouse Pad

I don’t know about you, but I like to try to incorporate my beloved fabric into as many areas of my home as possible. So today I have a super-quick, no-sew project for you to incorporate your favorite fabric onto the top of your mouse pad. You can simply take a mouse pad you already own or pick up an inexpensive one at your office supply store, add some fabric and you’ve got a pop of color next to your computer that will bring a smile to your face! Let’s get started on this Fabric Covered Mouse Pad…….

Fabric Covered Mouse Pad

Supplies:

1 mouse pad

1 fat quarter of your favorite woven cotton fabric

Double Sided Fusible Interfacing (Wonder Under or Steam-a-seam Lite 2)

Scissors

Iron

Instructions:

Pick out your favorite fabric and cut a piece that is just a little bit larger than your mouse pad.

Apply double sided fusible interfacing to the backside of your fabric. You can use a product such as Wonder Under or Steam-a-seam Lite 2.

Trace your mousepad onto the paper side of the interfacing.

Cut out the shape that you have drawn. Remove the paper backing and place the fabric with the right side up on top of the mousepad. Using your iron, fuse the fabric to the mousepad.

Once you have fused the fabric to the mousepad, use some Fray Check to go around the edges to prevent the fabric from fraying.

And there you have it! And cute pop of color…….in very little time. Wouldn’t these be fun little office gifts? Or perfect for your friends that you know still work on a desktop computer? And when you get tired of yours, just fuse on a new fabric!
