Sewing Class This Weekend – May 6, 2012

So I’ve been teaching some sewing classes around town lately.  I know I’ve mentioned this over on The Cottage Mama Facebook page, but I don’t think I’ve said anything about it here on the blog.  This weekend (Sunday, May 6, 2012) from 1:00PM – 4:00PM I will be teaching another class for my Janey Jumper pattern at Material Girl Fabric Shop in Crystal Lake, IL. Material Girl is located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, so if you are in the area and would like to join us, I would love to have you.   You can call Material Girl directly (see phone number at the bottom of this post) to sign up.

We will be sewing a variation of the Janey Jumper and I will be there to help every step of the way.  Along with sewing the dress I will be sharing many tips, tricks and ideas regarding sewing for children.  It will be a really fun time, I guarantee it!

Janey Jumper Pattern at Material Girl

The class is $25.00 and does not include the pattern.  The pattern can be purchased at the shop or if you already have it, you can just bring yours with you.  There are only a couple spots left in the class, so if you are interested, give the shop a call and reserve your spot.

If you can’t make this one or the class is full, I will be teaching several more classes throughout the area as well as some new ones with my new patterns that will be released very soon.  If you would like to stay up to date with my sewing classes, please come on over and join The Cottage Mama Facebook page.

And even if you aren’t interested in one of the sewing classes, I would highly recommend you check out Material Girl Fabric Shop if you happen to live in the Chicagoland area or possibly southern Wisconsin.

You know I love fabric (and I know you do too), so I couldn’t resist taking some pictures of all the eye candy Material Girl has to offer………

How is that for some fabric loveliness?
I am like a kid in a candy store in that shop!

  3. That shop would produce serious damages to my pocket book….I love everything! And the samples are so wonderful and inspiring. Sounds like you will be quite busy in the days ahead! Congratulations on the success of your pattern line! Hugs, Doreen

  4. If only I were in Crystal Lake that day I would be there! That fabric store, a lesson by you and creating the Janey Jumper would kind of be my dream day 🙂 Do you think that you might be teaching another class in June or July?

  5. That fabric store is AMAZING! I wish we had something like that in Albuquerque. We have some nice stores, don’t get me wrong, bot nothing that makes me hold my breath like that store does. Very jealous of you right now, and a bit jealous I am not close enough to come to your sewing class.

  6. Hi Lindsay: I’m Connie at http://hotflashncraftn.blogspot.com/, your new GFC friend, I would love it if you could stop by and be mine, too.
I grew up not that far from you. Yes, I’m a cheese head, from Walworth County, WI. I still go home at least twice a year. I have to say you have a beautiful home. Thank you for sharing.

  7. This shop is absolutely gorgeous, but I live the wrong side of the Atlantic to shop there, which is probably just as well because I don’t think I could afford to live too near it. Very jealous!

  8. Your classes sound like fun. I live about 3 hours from you near the Mississippi River. Six miles from Wisconsin.

  9. I love your shop!! I wish I lived near Chicago so I could go!!

  10. I am certain I would be in that shop ALL DAY! Lovely fabric, and so many possibilities!

  11. I so wished I lived near there! What a lovely shop!!!

  12. It will be a year this summer I’ve been in CL and I still have not made it to Material Girl. Shame on me.
