I have been meaning to write a blog post for over a year about this Easy Magnetic Pin Holder, but as life would have it, I just never got around to it. But today is the day! My mom sent me this darling magnetic pin holder that she made last year and I use it so much in my studio. My mom and I have a thing for little dishes. We love to have little cute bowls and dipping dishes around for snacks, etc. We believe you can never have too many cute little dishes!
I like having multiple pin holders going at one time, so I can have straight pins within arms reach at all times. These Easy Magnetic Pin Holders are super-simple to make and would make great gifts for all the sewing friends in your life.
Easy Magnetic Pin Holder Tutorial
Supplies:
1 small bowl or dish
2-3 1/2″ magnets
1 glue gun or strong glue (such as E6000)
Directions:
(This is so easy, I probably don’t even need to write these instructions, but I will anyway)
Apply glue to one side of the magnets. Place magnets on the bottom of the dish. Let dry.
If you use a larger bowl or dish, you may need more magnets to make sure the entire dish is magnetized.
You can find super-cute dishes and bowls at Michael’s, Home Goods, Target, Hobby Lobby, Amazon, Walmart…….pretty much all your big box stores. This would also be really cute with a vintage bowl or dish.
I love my little foxy magnetic pin holder. I use it all the time and it’s a great place to stick your pins when you can’t be bothered with getting them back into your pincushion. So go out and make a few of these for yourself or for your sewing sisters. They will absolutely love them! Thanks for mine, Mom!! You are the best!!
Until next time……
Happy Sewing!
