Well, it happened. My oldest child, Savannah Rose, started full-day Kindergarten yesterday. Wait, please press the pause button……..I was not ready for this one. But even though I wasn’t ready, she was MORE than ready to go!
Her dress was an adaptation of my Charlotte Apron Dress pattern. I simply shortened the skirt pattern piece and added a knit ruffle. For the apron, I rounded the top of the apron and left off the contrast band. The leggings were just an easy little legging with a circle skirt style ruffle at the bottom. The navy blue polka dot is a spandex knit from Girl Charlee Fabrics, the ruler fabric and red and white polka dots were from Riley Blake Designs and the skirt is from Heather Bailey’s line ‘Pop Garden‘.
The outfit turned out darling and I hope her first day was fantastic. I love how you paired the fabrics, it really made for a perfect first day of school outfit!
I just love “first day of school” photos. Savannah looks so excited! Congratulations on this milestone!
Such a precious little girl in an adorable creation by her mom. She is such a blessed and lucky little girl! Great job MOM!!
She’s a sweetie! Lovely outfit! I was a kindergarten teacher so I know she will have so much fun while she is learning. The little ones are like sponges at that age and so eager to learn.
I just wanted to say “Congratulations!” on your beautiful new website, integrated shop, and book preview (it looks amazing!)! It all looks fabulous. So happy for you!
Lindsay the outfit is precious….Were did you get the pattern for the leggings with the circle ruffle? I have been wanting to make my granddaughter some just like this, but can’t find the pattern. Thanks for the help, and I love, love, love your patterns and blog!!!
What a darling outfit for the first day of Kindergarten. My youngest grandchild started kindergarten in Sept. also. I cannot believe it. She was born last week.
