What is included with my patterns?

All Patterns: Full-color front and back cover, materials list, yardage requirements, cutting layouts, step-by-step photographed instructions and each pattern contains a special recipe.

PDF Patterns: Include computer generated pattern pieces to print out on your home computer with pattern markers and a print diagram for piecing the pattern together.

Paper Patterns: Includes full-sized pattern sheets in addition to what’s listed for all patterns.

 

What is a PDF sewing pattern?

A PDF sewing pattern is just like a paper sewing pattern; however, it is available for instant download for you to print out on your home computer printer. The pattern pieces have been separated onto 8.5” x 11” sheets of paper so you can easily print them out at home. The pattern comes with a print diagram showing you exactly how all the pieces fit together to make your own large-scale pattern sheet. The individual sheets of paper have markers that also help you to piece your pattern together.

 

How do I print my PDF Pattern?

You print your PDF pattern from you home computer to your own printer.

 

Are the pattern pieces full size?

The Paper Patterns come with full-sized pattern pieces. The PDF patterns come with pattern pieces for your to print out on your home computer printer. They print out on 8.5″ x 11″ sheets of paper for your to tape together to make your own full-sized pattern sheet.

 

When will I receive my pattern?

PDF Patterns are available for instant download and paper patterns will ship within three days of purchase.

 

Are your patterns difficult to sew?

The Cottage Mama Sewing Patterns are designed for confident beginners. They are not difficult, but do require that you have some basic sewing skills under your belt. More times than not people are very impressed by how easily a patterns comes together. Not a lot of effort, but a ton of wow factor!

 

Do your patterns require a serger?

No, all The Cottage Mama Sewing Patterns are designed to be sewn on your regular sewing machine. There are some pieces where you can use a serger if you have one, but no pattern requires a serger.

 

What if I have a garment construction question?

Make sure you have read through your pattern thoroughly first and if something is still not making sense, feel free to post your question over on The Cottage Mama Facebook Page. Or feel free to email thecottagemama[at]gmail[dot]com with your questions.

 

Do you sell finished garments?

The Cottage Mama did start out as a ready-to-wear / custom order children’s clothing boutique; however now our focus is 100% on sewing pattern design and inspiring creativity in others. We no longer accept custom orders. From time to time you may see a sample piece pop up in the shop for sale.

 

Can I sell products made from your patterns?

Yes. You can sell products made from The Cottage Mama Sewing Patterns  as well as the book ‘Sew Classic Clothes for Girls: 20 Girls’s Dresses, Outfits and Accessories from The Cottage Mama’. You may sell this products on a small-scale, meaning only one person sewing and selling at craft fairs, flea markets or online like Etsy.com. We do not require a license to sell products made from our patterns, but we do require that you credit the design to Lindsay Wilkes from The Cottage Mama whenever possible.

 

What type of payments do you accept?

The Cottage Mama accepts all major credit cards as well as Paypal.

 

When will I receive my order?

Paper Patterns, Sewing Kits, Fabric, Books and DVDs will be mailed to your home. PDF patterns will be available for instant download.

 

If I purchased a PDF Pattern, how do I receive my instant download?

Once you have paid for your order, you will arrive on a screen that says ‘Order Received’. If you look further down on the page, you will see exactly what you ordered with a download link underneath the name of the pattern. Click on the link to download. You will have three download attempts.
