Best of 2012 ~ DIY Project Tutorials

I had a feeling 2012 would be a great year, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine all the opportunities that would come this year. I do not take any of it for granted and wake up every day feeling blessed and so thankful for all of this.

Now, more than ever, I believe that we have a great power in our destiny. I know my husband was rolling his eyes last year when, on the first day of 2012, I kept saying (out loud) that 2012 was going to be a great year! I believe if you put positive energy out in the world and work really hard, good things will come to you. So for the record, I think 2013 is going to be the best year yet! This might all sound a little cheesy to you and maybe it is, but give it a try and I think you’ll be surprised.

I wanted to gather some of my favorite project tutorials from this last year to share with you all. It’s always fun for me to go back through the year and look back at all that has happened here at The Cottage Home. And just in case you missed one of these projects, I’ve linked to each one below the picture.

Happy New Year!

  1. Lindsay what a lovely round up. Letting you know I for one appreciate all the free tutorials and sharing, it’s what makes blogging so fun. Thank you and here’s to 2013, best wishes.

  2. Have had so much fun following your blog this year, and love your sewing projects! If you’d like to join us, feel free to add your link to our year-end link party at Craft Buds. Would be honored to have you! http://www.craftbuds.com/craft-buds-2012-year-in-review-link-party/

  3. Thanks, Lindsay! I just added my link 🙂 So sweet of you to invite me over!

  4. Hi Lindsay, I love your blog and I’ve enjoyed reading it this year. The only thing is that I read it in the browser, on your blog’s page and it’s always super slow to load compared to everything else. Do you think that in 2013 you could make your pictures a bit lower in quality or not so many gadgets and widgets without compromising your wonderful design and posts please?

Please don’t think I’m criticising you or the great quality photos you include, but like most people I’m impatient and waiting longer than 30 seconds or so for the whole page to load is frustrating.

Hope you have a great new year xx

p.s. maybe my new year’s resolution should be to be more patient? 🙂

    • Hi Samantha,

Thank you so much for your feedback! Seriously…..I don’t know that it is slow, if know one tells me. I use Google Chrome as my browser and have Comcast for my internet and it has always loaded quickly. Maybe it’s the different browsers / computers, but I will definitely look into making the photos smaller. I know how frustrating that can be when site is slow to load.

Your comment is very timely because at the first of the year I will be doing a survey for the readers asking for areas of improvement, ect. I would love if you would be part of the survey once it is posted.

Thanks again for your feedback and I hope you have a very Happy New Year!
